This study analyzes the relationship between design, education and capitalism, with special attention to the barriers of access to knowledge and profession in a system often marked by inequality. From an autobiographical and critical perspective, explores how social expectations, institutional elitism and the commercialization of education affect the training of designers. Based on the personal experience in formative itineraries both at middle and university level, addresses issues such as the prestige of degrees, the impact of the Bolonya Plan, the transformation of design schools in Catalonia and the tension between creativity and bureaucracy. Likewise, examines the global dynamics that homogenize the educational programs, often excluding non-Western perspectives. This work aims to question the rigidity of the current educational system, to claim the value of practical learning and to defend a more inclusive, critical and related education in design to the social context.
